Nestlé Nespresso S.A. is a subsidiary of food conglomerate Nestlé S.A. and was established in Switzerland in 1986.

The Nestlé Nespresso division developed and marketed the first coffee capsule system, in which coffee granules in individually sealed containers are brewed using specialized high-pressure espresso machines. The company has since earned a reputation for re-creating the European cafe experience for coffee lovers everywhere—from the home baristas to restaurateurs.

Nespresso is also known for innovative design. Their espresso machines have been created with help from companies such as Porsche, Miele and Alessi. Product awards include: the Good Design Award from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the Red Dot Best of the Best Prize for high quality design, and the Small Appliance Award from the UK Industry Awards.

Nestlé Nespresso has expanded by setting up coffee boutiques in major cities all over the world. You’ll find Nespresso bars in New York, Miami, Brussels, Munich, Sydney, Shanghai and Cape Town. To date, Nestlé Nespresso S.A. has set up 220 coffee boutiques worldwide.
